SAE, the Society of Automotive Engineers, is a professional organization for students that are interested in the automotive field. Here at tech there are 6 SAE sponsored teams. SAE has collegiate design competitions, student chapters, awards, scholarships, career resources, and K-12 programs. Come to our meetings, times are on each team's website. Check us out, join, and have fun!

May 22nd: 2007 SAE Foundation Banquet at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.  This is a huge honor for us and we will be 
sending four teams with two people for each team to this black tie event.

Aero

Came in 1st place at the World Competition 2007 in Texas!

Automotive Systems Enterprise

 

 The current ASE mission is to design and build a competitive, super-high-mileage car that will challenge other engineering schools.

Baja SAE

Students build a prototype of an off road vehicle intended for mass production and sale as a safer all terrain vehicles (ATV). One vehicle on its way to competition in Tennessee!

Challenge X

Check out the new paint job!

Challenge X is a four year competition where 17 schools around North America are competing to redesign a Chevy Equinox.

Clean Snowmobile Challenge

They came in 4th place overall.  Also won the “Best Ride” award.  See sae.org for more scoring!

Formula

The goal of the Formula Car competition is to design an open wheel formula style racecar for the weekend autocrosser.

The 2008 Vehicle (F132) will be ready to drive on April 6th!
